Apple launches the iPhone SE (2020): as powerful as the iPhone 11 Pro, 60% cheaper

The Californian company is renewing its entry-level smartphone, which resembles the iPhone 8, but which incorporates the latest A13 Bionic processor.

Available for pre-order this April 17, the smartphone will be delivered from Friday April 24. While the iPhone 8 was sold 539 euros in 64 GB version, the iPhone SE (2020) will be available for 489 euros, with a similar storage capacity (against 539 euros in 128 GB version and 659 euros in 256 GB version) . Three colors are on the program: black, white and red.

The main strength of the iPhone SE (2020) is the integration of the A13 Bionic chip, also present on the iPhone 11 (from 809 euros) and iPhone 11 Pro (from 1.159 euros). A performance-price ratio which should therefore prove to be unbeatable. It is also compatible with wireless charging, Wi-Fi 6, and has a 4.7-inch panel offering True Tone function, which adjusts the white balance according to the user's environment. The LCD screen is also compatible with HDR content.

To drop below the 500 euro mark, Apple is skipping the second camera (ultra wide angle) of the iPhone 11, on its edge-to-edge screen, as well as its Face ID facial recognition function.
