Corona Virus: Chelsea provides 78,000 meals to health workers
Chelsea Football Club announced Thursday that it will provide 78,000 free meals to the British National Health Service and charities that support the elderly and vulnerable during the new Corona virus epidemic.
The blues donation will help health services staff ("NHS") work long hours in five hospitals.
"We have always been committed to supporting our societies, especially the most vulnerable, and we realize at this time that this is more important than ever," said club president, American Bruce Buck.
Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium, which is usually covered in red during North Club matches, will be lit in blue to show support for health service workers during the epidemic.
The Old Trafford stadium will turn to the color of its rival and its neighbor, Manchester City, in conjunction with the weekly public acclaim for the "applause for therapists" medical teams Thursday at 19:00 GMT.
"Usually Old Trafford is not colored blue, but that will be the case for recognizing the exceptional efforts of front-line workers to combat the Covid-19 + virus," Manchester United said in a statement.
